BASIX has applied to new NSW homes since 1 July 2004, and a rainwater tank plumbed to toilets, laundry and outdoor taps was one of the most common ways of meeting the water target. These estates were built out in and after that period, and a lot of what we do follows from it.

Modern PVC does not corrode. A line that blocks repeatedly is telling you about fall or an installation detail, not about age.
Heat pumps need genuine airflow and solar needs a workable roof. On these blocks both are usually available, which is not true across Sydney.
Sydney water is soft. A storage tank that has given up here has lost its sacrificial anode or an element.
